US Department of Education notified Los Altos school district that both of Los Altos junior high schools have been nominated for the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Recognition. This is truly remarkable. Each year only 250-300 schools nationwide are nominated AND, of those, only about 35 of those schools are from the more than 13,000 schools in California. Jeffrey Baier, Superintendent commented ” For both Blach and Egan to be nominated is a testament to the work we are ALL doing in Los Altos School District.”.
He went on to say that “the importance of both of our junior high schools being recognized is not lost on me. Each of us, in some way, has our fingerprints on this accomplishment. As a student timidly enters a kindergarten classroom on the first day of school to the day on which they walk across the stage at eighth grade graduation, we all play an important role in their success. So as I congratulate Blach and Egan for their impressive recognition from our state and from our country, I also congratulate each of you for the role you have played in our success as a school district. Thank you!
Congratulations to Blach and Egan! ”
