Wings of Freedom Tour Makes a Stop in Mountain View
A Los Altos Town Crier reporter recently experienced the thrill (and scare) of her life as a passenger of a vintage WWII-era aircraft. Megan Winslow visited Mountain View’s Moffet Field to board a B-25 Mitchell, a 71 year old fighter plane as part of the “Wings of Freedom Tour” flight over the San Francisco Bay.
The annual local event, organized by Los Altos resident Kory Stendell for the last 26 years, especially attracts military veterans but the younger generation also attend to see the “old planes” and hear the veterans’ stories.
