Los Altos High Students Hosts a Hackathon
Computer science enthusiats from Los Altos High Schools have organized the Bay Area’s first hackathon, named Los Altos Hacks, an event that encourages future engineers, designers and programmers to create apps, websites and other code-based projects. The 24-hour event will take place at the Microsoft Silicon Valley Campus in Mountain View on January 30 and 31 and hopes to attract 200 coders from throughout the Bay Area.
The goal is to spread awareness of computer science and to also attract beginners with little or no experience with hands-on workshops. This is a free event, but students must apply to participate. For more information, visit losaltoshacks.com.
